I think you'll agree with me that getting into IIT's isn't that easy and you need a lot of hard-work.
Or is it ?
Well, it turns out that staying organized and knowing the right way of preparing can significantly boost your results. You're a future IITian and IITians work smart, not hard. I'm going to reveal all that to you very soon.

In today's world you've many options (TOO MANY). Let's see how they compare against each other in detail, I've saved the best and an IITians Way exclusive for the last ☺.
OPTION 1 : Self Study
This method is best for super smart, studious students (really STUDIOUS). If you're the one who grasp anything written within seconds, be it difficult concepts or tentative calculations. Then, this is the best method for you and you can get even a SINGLE DIGIT RANK (One of my friends did just that). The foremost thing you'll need to know that this method requires you to invest at least 10-14 hours everyday.
OPTION 2 : Join Coaching
Many coaching institutes have made their presence across various cities across the nation, and it is highly probable that you may find a handful of them in your city. Some of them are excellent, but most of them are average and suffer from poor quality teachers. Many a times, results shown are misleading. You may want to consult your seniors before joining one.
That's really CONFUSING, isn't it?
I've discussed all these and many more factors here.
OPTION 3 : Kota / Hyderabad
Do you believe that majority of selection comes from these educational hubs i.e Kota and Hyderabad? Probably, you're caught in the trap of advertising by coaching institutes.
Thinking that still why so many people go to these cities? That's because the faculties/teachers employed are exceptional, the result depends on students (It's completely your wish weather you want to study or not). It is safe to assume that almost 35-45% of the selections come from these cities.
OPTION 4 : Online Coaching
Actually, this is the most controversial and debated topics and guess what? I'll leave it to you as it totally depends on your personal preferences. It's really a nice idea to use technology in your favor PLUS(+) you get detailed analysis like how much time you spent on each question, your weak area's, etc. Sometimes, small text written on screen can get really painful. I personally doubt the quality of questions present as they are barely touch JEE Advanced level. Some places where you can get online coaching are Toppr, Embibe, etc.
Now, the Exclusive Option !
There is a company named Etoos which came to India in 2011, they hired the best faculty out there in Kota, and recorded their lectures. You might be knowing about this but may not be considering it as a viable option, because a very few people know about it, and only a handful of students prepare from it. Some of the teachers like N.V. Sir (Physics) and M.C. Sir (Maths) are simply mind blowing. It may prove to be really helpful if you live in a remote area or you don't consider leaving your home for preparing for JEE. You can find out more here.
No matter which platform you choose, you'll need to put some efforts from your side to make your dream come true. It's just that options like self-study, online coaching require more hard-work than others. I generally recommend starting JEE Preparation from class XI going forward with last option.
